::::: Division of Civil and Environmental Engineering ::::   Educational Goal::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::: Majoring Fields ¡Ý Civil Engineering ¡Ý Environmental Engineering Civil and environmental engineerings are the engineering fields that plan, design, construct, maintain and manage the nations key industry facilities such as roads, ports, railroads, airports, dams, bridges, housing/industry/park development, sports complexes, readjustment of arable land, mammoth buildings, and so on. Besides the above mentioned construction work,these fields also plan, design, construct, maintain and manage the environment preserving facilities such as wastewater disposal plants, water purifying plants, trash burners, and soil purification systems. These engineering works are the fundamental bases of other engineering fields, and are considered to be important factors of everyday life in terms of the nations economy, welfare, and environment. The division aims at educating professional construction technicians who are expected to play creative and leading roles in the fields of civil engineering work such as construction, surveying, urban planning, water works, foundation works, and construction management. Also the division intends to train environmental engineers who are fully competitive in the environmental engineering fields such as water pollution management, air pollution management, waste disposal, and noise pollution control.   Career Prospect with Graduation::::::::::::::::::::::::: ¡ñ Work as public employees at the ministry of environmental affairs and the ministry of construction and transportation of the central and local governments. ¡ñWork at government-run companies, and construction contracting and architectural design service agencies. ¡ñContinue study in the graduate schools.
