◈ Main Library
Main Library, a structure of 5 floors above ground, keeps 230,000
volumes, and runs the reading room with over 2000 seats, the reference
room, the periodicals room, the quiet room, and so on. All the books
can be browsed through LAN, and the lending service and related tasks are
also computerized. Especially, with the establishment of the electronic
library system, users can refer to materials in the Internet without
visiting the Library.
◈ Computer Center
Established in 1984, the Computer Center has the best networking system in
Cholla-do. It supports Internet services as connected to the three
largest backbone networks in Korea Education Network, Research
Environment Open Network, and NowNet. The Center leads the University's
informationalization by providing individual accounts to all the
students and faculty, opening Internet courses, and managing school
affairs via the Internet. Also, it has the lecture room equipped with UNIX
computers for teaching, the Multimedia PC rooms available for all
students at any time, the CAD room prepared for Computer Graphics and
CAD classes, the X-terminal room, and the VOD room for multi-media
production.
◈ Dormitory
The university dormitory is now under construction, which will be
ready for students and foreign faculty members in the year 2000. Besides
foreign faculty members, it will accommodate over 1,000 students.
The dormitory will also provide various convenient facilities such as
computer rooms, lounges, music halls, cafeterias, a barber shop, a
beauty parlor, and laundry facilities, etc. Each room will be completely air-
conditioned and internet-accessible.
